1. Exploring, Wondering, Questioning

Picture
In the first meetings, we do the brain storming activity of the topic. We shared our prior knowledge about it and come to the questions:
1. How many people lives in Jakarta?
2. What are the resources for the Jakarta citizens?
3. What is the big issue in Jakarta related to the topic?
We explore information of the population and resources through articles, newspapers, internet etc.

2. researching and seeking information

SURVEY
To have more information about the housing problems, we interview some people around our school.
We found that there are many people who doesn't own their living place; they rent it or it is family's heritage.

3. collecting data and reporting findings

PRIMARY RESOURCE
Tim Nasional Percepatan Penanggulangan Kemiskinan

From the result we found from the survey, we wanted to know what government do to help the citizen related to the housing problem.

So we went to TNP2K in Kebon Sirih Jakarta. We interviewed Bapak Dr. Bambang Widianto as the Seswapres Deputy and the Executive Secretary of TNP2K and Bapak Wijayanto Samirin as the Vice President Special Staff for Economic.

According to them the government has built houses and apartments; in 2015 they have built 85.000 houses, in 2016 there are 288.000 and in 2017 there are 250.000 houses.

The Jakarta Government has also build simple apartement that we call as Rumah Susun. There are 2 types of Rusun which are Rumah Susun Sewa (RUSUNAWA) and Rumah Susun Milik (RUSUNAMI).

4. experimenting and playing with possibilities.

Social Experiment
To witness the program of Jakarta Government to help the citizen, we conducted a social experiment. We visited the RUSUNAWA Jatinegara Barat.

We talked to Ibu Dewi P as the KASUBAG KEUANGAN (Kepala Bagian Keuangan) about the Rusun; people, facility and problems. We also interviewed some of the renter to know their point of view.

The government has given many facilities for the renter such as PUSKESMAS, library, elevator and cleaner. From the interviewed we found that elevator become the hot issue in this rusun. The elevator is easily broken.

It comes us to an idea as our next step...ACTION...

5. deepening understanding through the application of a concept

We conclude our research that the government has done programs to reduce the housing problems by building the houses and the simple apartment, but there are still people who doesn't get the information. It comes us to an idea that we are going to make some things to give people some information about housing.
