Forests are the world's air conditioning system-the lungs of the planet - and we are on the verge of switching it off (Prince Charles)

Deepening understanding through application of knowledge

We created three different ecosystems
first jar: rainforest ecosystem
second jar : palm oil ecosystem
third jar : combined ecosystem (rainforest and palm oil plantation)

Picture
Picture
The results from this experiments are :
All the animals in first and second jar stay alive. A caterpillar in a first jar changed to be a butterfly.
The animals in the third jar died. A praying mantis ate a cricket and after while the praying mantis died.
We found that the third jar ecosystem was not balance because soil, plants and animals taken from different habitat, so those animals can not survive on two different ecosystem. Especially if palm oil and rainforest ecosystem mixed together.

Our Point : Rainforest ecosystem will damage, if it once changed into palm oil plantation.
So never destroy! Before it's late!

Experimenting and playing with possibilities
